Description

Calea is an exotic entheogen that affects reality and sleep control, used as a tool for conscious dreaming (CD).
A plant used by the Chontal, Nahuatl Indians to connect with the psychic world of dreams and receive messages from there. Dreams become livelier, clearer and more intense.

Kalea Zacatecici is a species of the genus Calea in the family Asteraceae, growing wild from southern Mexico to northern Costa Rica. A strongly branched shrub up to 1-1.5 m tall with edges serrated, triangular-oval leaves, 2-6.5 cm long. The inflorescence consists of a multitude of closely spaced small white or yellow flowers.

The main component of Caleya leaves is germacranolides and other compounds which provide a mild psychedelic effect after ingestion.

The Chontal and Chiapas Indians called Calea Zacatecici “God Leaves” and used its leaves to enter conscious dreams (OD) and in shamanic practices for predicting the future.

Chontal and Chiapas considered dreams to be a transition of the soul to another reality, where shamans communicated with the spirit world. Through magical techniques and the use of the Dream herb, Indians could learn the cause of illness, locate a person or a lost item, and predict the future.

To do this, a shaman would drink a decoction of leaves and, after smoking a cigarette made of the same leaves, fall asleep in a cool place, and then, after recalling the dreams, make a prediction. Attaching great importance to visions received during dreams, Chiapas medicine men claimed that Calea Zacatecici purified the senses.

Recent studies have shown that “Bitter Grass” (its name is not accidental) stimulates the REM sleep phase in which people dream, which means that dreams are more vivid and remembered much better, increasing their recall time.

In addition, Calea has a beneficial effect on the entire body:

  • It has a calming effect, normalizing sleep;
  • Relieves anxiety and confusion;
  • Regulates the function of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • Helps a person to expel parasites from the body.
  • Preparations of Kalea Stinging are not considered narcotic, so the cultivation of this plant and use in medicine is not criminalized.

METHOD OF USE:

To achieve the best effect, you need to brew 3-5 grams (about 2.5 tablespoons) of Caleya leaves in hot, but not boiling water and after insisting for 15 minutes slowly drink the infusion, then try to sleep in a quiet and peaceful place. You can reduce the bitter taste by adding honey.

To enhance the effect you can additionally smoke a roll of dried Kaleya leaves, but no more than 3 pieces.

Special contraindications are not identified except for people who may be allergic to this plant. If within 30 minutes there is no itching, you can not fear of allergies.
